Camp 2026

1st – 7th August

⋅ Summercamp for kids ⋅ Kindersommerlager ⋅ Letní‍ ‍tábor‍ ‍pro‍ ‍děti ⋅

We are looking forward to inviting kids and teenagers, who love to be in wild nature, who are not afraid of foreign languages and who actively want to use their language skills, for example English, no matter how good or bad it might be.

Horažďovice

The place is situated about one hour behind the Bavarian border, hence, it is a good option to share a car or to take the same train. We can help with the organisation by email or phone.

NEW: Specially for the older ones

A night alone in the forest. This challenge is based on the vision quests of indigenous peoples and is intended to be a taste of what a real vision quest is like.

Where?

Our beautiful, large garden is in a remote, secluded location out in the countryside near Horažďovice. We have meadows for the tents surrounded by wild forests and rocks. In August, trees hang low from sugar-sweet pears and plums, and about 10 different types of butterflies flap through the air. Everything blooms in full magnificence.

When?

on Saturday, 1st of August, arrival at 12 o’clock

until Friday, 7th of August, departure at 12 o’clock

Age

‍ 10 ‍–‍ ‍15 years ‍

Important things to know

  • we cook vegetarian food only
  • we sleep outside in tents and sleeping bags
  • we mainly speak English at the camp, but we both know German and Kaya knows Czech, so no child will be lost in translation 😉
  • we will be walking a lot, so a suitable condition is needed

We can help with the organisation of carpooling, as soon as we know where you come from. Another good option would be to travel (together) by train, see for example the Bayern-Böhmen-Ticket.

125,- € / 3.000 Kč until 30th of June

Small Vision Quest

As the name ‘vision quest’ suggests, it is a journey of discovery, and as with any such search, immediate success cannot be expected. Yet those who do not seek will rarely find. What one seeks to find are one’s own life visions and, with them, the goals one has chosen for oneself.

Life offers many distractions, yet our time on earth is limited. That is why, traditionally, all peoples have asked their young people the question as soon as they reached a certain age: “What is your mission?” As this is a very big question, it might help to start by asking a smaller one, such as: “Why are you here in this (your) life?” An even simpler question, which points to one’s own life visions, would be: “In what way do you love serving others?”

One should meditate on such a question alone. Whether the answers are shared with anyone is left to the participants, but we will ask whether any answers were found at all. Anyone who wishes to do so can then share their experiences within the circle of vision seekers.

The problem for young people today is that, due to the amount of time they spend at school and alongside their many leisure activities, they have little opportunity to take on responsibility for others in the form of the various acts of service that adults otherwise exchange amongst themselves. Unfortunately, school is neither a genuine act of service to others nor a genuine engagement with oneself and work on one’s own development. As work experience is lacking, the experience of joy in serving others is often missing too, and so a general sense of disorientation prevails in young people regarding what their own missions might be. Consequently, questions such as those above are best given serious, inward consideration once a year.

We would like to make a small contribution to this in the form of a single short night alone in the woods, intended as a sort of taster for a more intensive vision quest. Ages 14 or older with parental consent.
